Gabrielle Campo, 7th Congressional District Candidate Walks with Community

INDIANAPOLIS - Gabrielle Campo, 7th Congressional District Candidate, highlighted that research shows suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States and 3rd leading cause for youth. In Indiana, almost 16% of Hoosier high school students seriously considered ending their lives. The reasons and risk factors for suicide include physical or mental illness, alcohol or drug abuse, history of abuse and neglect, and feelings of hopelessness.

Campo stated, "As a candidate, as a citizen, I am dedicated to protecting all life. We need to create a healthy and hopeful environment, especially for our youth. By coming together to walk, we can bring the numbers out of the darkness of despair and highlight the need to address the risk factors facing our youth and general community."
